Hey, it’s Conor Cunneen – IrishmanSpeaks here

Sharing some simple tips, tricks, and techniques on how to add humor to your presentation—without needing to be a professional comedian.

Why Humor? Because humor helps you connect with your audience or client to ensure a positive interaction.

💡 You Don’t Have to Be Funny to Be Funny

That’s right. You don’t have to be funny to be funny.

Let me ask you something:

When you’re with a group of friends, laughing and chatting—do you laugh more at actual jokes… or do you laugh more at comments, stories, and offhand remarks?

If you are like most of my audiences (and the respondent in the video on this page) the answer will be “Stories.”

Why? We rarely laugh at punchline-style jokes, because we don’t hear that many of them. What we do laugh at—often and naturally—are quips, anecdotes, and real-life moments.

🧠 Build Your Humor Bank by Listening

Here’s what I’m encouraging you to do:

  • 🎯 Listen for funny lines, remarks, or stories in everyday conversations.
  • ✍️ Write them down! Don’t trust your memory.
  • 📥 Save funny cartoons you see online or in the paper.
  • 📨 Keep humorous emails or memes that made you smile.

Over time, you’ll develop a valuable repository of relatable humor—perfect for adding lightness and connection to your presentations.
